Columbia College Chicago

The Open Educational Resource textbook project reimagines mathematics through a more approachable and visually engaging lens for students within creative disciplines. By combining educational structure with playful, design-forward visuals, the project challenges the intimidating perception often associated with STEM learning and instead frames math as something exploratory, accessible, and creatively driven.

Partnering With Columbias Library

In developing the visual identity and promotional materials for the project, I considered how the work would function beyond digital interfaces and within exterior public spaces such as campus posters, flyers, and transit-style advertisements. The design language prioritizes bold visibility, clarity, and engagement at a distance while still maintaining an inviting and contemporary tone that reflects the textbook’s mission of accessibility and inclusion.

Making Education Accessible

Designing for impact means creating visuals that invite engagement, curiosity, and connection. Through accessibility and clarity, design becomes a tool that transforms intimidating subjects into approachable experiences.
